Hot Chocolate Peppermint Coffee Coolatta Recipe

I was never a coffee person until I had Dunkin Donut's Oreo Coffee Coolatta It is one of my favorite things ever! You may have seen my post on how to make one yourself.

Well, that got me to thinking, about how good chocolate and coffee are together.
And then I was inspired to make a something with hot cocoa in it.

Thus, my Hot Chocolate Peppermint Coffee Coolatta was created!

Here is what you will need to make about 3 Small Dunkin Size Collattas:

  • 2 Cups COLD Strong Brewed Coffee (consider adding more grains than you normally would)
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 7 Tbs. Sugar
  • 5 Tbs. Hersey Chocolate Syrup
  • About 14 Ice Cubes
  • 1/2 cup Hot Cocoa Powder (I used a mix that already had a peppermint flavor, if you are just using the standard mix, but still want peppermint, then just use a drop of peppermint extract)
  • 2 Tbs Heresey Cocoa
  • Crushed Dark Chocolate (for garnishing)
  • Whipped Cream

Add all your ice cubes into the blender. Pour about a cup or so of your black coffee into the blender to give it a liquid base.
Using Ice Crush, blend it all together to give it that slushy, icy texture. You don't want to blend all the coffee and ice together at once, or it will just be like cold coffee.

Add the cream, sugar, chocolate syrup, hot chocolate cocoa powder, and hersey's cocoa powder to the rest of your coffee.

If you want the peppermint version of this, add a drop of peppermint extract here. Stir well to combine.

Don't add all the coffee in at once
Add it gradually to make sure it doesn't end up too liquidy.
I added about half, blended that together, then checked the consistency, and added some more.

Now pour into a cup. Drizzle some melted chocolate (or heresy's syrup), then add your whipped cream on top of that, drizzle with chocolate again & garnish with dark chocolate chunks.

You are all set!

Mmmmmm! It is so delicious!

So much better than plain coffee or hot chocolate.

I can't decide which one I like better, this version, or the Oreo Version. They are both amazing!
