Zebra Popcorn Recipe

 Tomorrow I will be putting up my (super cute) free Popcorn Cone Printables- but today I am going to show you how to make some gourmet popcorn!

Ever heard of Zebra Popcorn? It's a delicious combination of caramel popcorn drizzled with white and semi-sweet chocolate. Very special to me because it was one of the last memories I have of my great grandfather, Papa.

You can either drizzle on store bought caramel popcorn, or do it my way. You decided to do it my way? Good. So, pop your corn. :)

I used a 9x13" (3 quart) pyrex dish full of popcorn. It all really depends on how coated you want your popcorn. If you want it to be less coated, just add more popcorn.

This recipe does not contain any corn syrup. Instead we use Heavy Whipping Cream.

So, combine 2 cups Brown Sugar, I stick Butter, 1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream, and a pinch of salt.

Bring them to a roaring boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Then pour into a mixer and whip for 3 minutes. This will act as the thickening agent (thus, the Heavy Whipping Cream)

* If you want a really crunchy caramel popcorn, then substitute corn syrup for the heavy whipping cream, boil for 4 more minutes, and skip the whipping in mixer part.

Now just mix the caramel into your popcorn.

Let it dry.
{Some people bake their caramel corn at 250 F for about 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.}

Now, drizzle melted white & semi-sweet chocolate over the caramel popcorn. Let harden and then enjoy!

Popcorn is such a  great party food- I mean who doesn't like popcorn?
Go here to see how I made my own Popcorn Booth.

There you are Folks! Zebra Popcorn! Stop by tomorrow for the Popcorn Cone Printables!
