DIY Gold Succulent Vases for just $6
I've been having SO much fun decorating my new house, and figuring out where everything will go. This girl is getting her pinterest on! ;)
The space I've been working on right now is my blogging station. It's almost done, but I still have a few finishing touches before I do a full reveal.
One of the things I REALLY wanted on my desk area were some cute little plants. When I found these mini juice glasses at Walmart for $1 a piece, I just knew what I could use them for- succulent vases!
For this tutorial, you will need as many glasses as you have succulents, painter's tape, newspaper, and gold spray paint.
First, you need to wash your cups and dry them really well.
Next, encircle the outside of the glasses with newspaper.
Use painter's tape to secure the newspaper to the glasses.
Now you can spray the insides of your glasses with gold spray paint. I wanted to do it this way because I wanted the glass to be nice and shiny on the outside, and not have to worry about it getting scratched.
All that is left for you to do now is to put your succulents into the glasses! I made sure to add some pebbles/rocks to the bottom for extra drainage. But I'm just planning on watering it with a spray bottle, so the vases and succulents will get a mist watering, instead of a drenching.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE them so much! I'm going to try my hand at propagating them so I will have more for around the house. :)
In case you didn't already notice, I kinda went crazy with the gold spray paint. My husband walked in on me accessorizing my desk, and was like, "Someone really likes gold." Haha!
The cost breakdown for this project was $6 for the vases ($4 for all the cups, and $2 for the gold spray paint) and about $12 for all the succulents.
I can't wait to share the rest of it with you all! It is my DREAM blogging station!
Stay tuned for more! XOXO
