How to Create Amazing Watercolor Printables in Waterlogue
Hello Everyone! I'm so happy you are here! I would love it if you followed along on Pinterest and Instagram to keep up with my most recent projects and sneak peaks.
Today, I wanted to share this lovely printable I made... and then I was like, "Forget the printable! I NEED to show them how to make this printable!"

Haha... so anyways, I stayed up past 1 am to put this tutorial together for you all because I love you. :)
Here is the original art. I used photoshop to add some hand drawn flower graphics on top of some paper textures, and penned the wording with my Wacom Tablet (affiliate link) This thing is so AWESOME that I never use a regular mouse anymore.
Next, I emailed the file (it was very large) to myself, opened it & saved it on my iPhone. Then I opened it up in Waterlogue.
Waterlogue isn't a free app... but for $3.99 it's a keeper. And just FYI, Waterlogue didn't pay me to say that... wish they did, but they don't even know that I exist. Waah... Anyhow, this is a tutorial purely based off of how awesome I think this app is! ;)
Next, I played around with the different filters. I chose "Natural" first.
You can add other layers on top until you get the watery goodness effect you want. You just have to click on the effect, wait for the preview to appear, and click the preview if you think it's a keeper.
You can also make the image lighter or darker. And if you want to save it in High Res, make sure to click "Large."
To save, click the heart. I typically save as many variations as I can, and delete the ones that I don't think turned out.
It will take forever to save... don't you just love the buffer icon? Yeah, me neither!
Here are a few of the versions I came up with using different filters. I love how many effects you can get... and they look so much more "watercolor authentic" than the original digital photo.

You don't have to have digitally created an image like I did either! You can use it with hand drawn sketches. The more texture & color the better!
