Cheap Last Minute Christmas "Vintage Book Page" Ornaments | Part 2

I have been so behind in everything ever since my move to New England. It's partially because I miss my wonderful husband so much and I don't have as much motivation to get things done, and it's also because I am not the best planner and things piled up while I was on the road for 3 days. But now I'm back on track (hopefully) and I am having SO much fun thinking about all things Christmas.... And trying to tell myself that I can not spend a fortune on my almost two year old for presents this year... I just can't wait to see her open them! Last year we had to open everything for her, so this year will be so fun!  :)

Today I have another fun crafty ornament for your tree! HERE is the first ornament I shared in this series. I am such a "make it pretty with what you have on hand" (MIPWWYHOH.... yeah it's totally the new term for DIY right? ;) type of person.

For this one you just need your glue gun, an old book, and a tennis ball (styrofoam balls or old circular ornaments work too! I was just MIPWWYHOH ;)

Cut your paper into fish scale shapes.

When cutting the pages, don't avoid variations of text and blank paper.

Start gluing them on starting with the one that will be on the very top.

Work you way down overlapping the "scales" over each-other going in circles.

When you are all done covering your ornament with scales, curl the edges out to give it definition.

Attach a string to the bottom so you can hang it. Make sure that it is securely attached.

I love making cheap and last minute Christmas Decorations! :)

Merry Christmas!

The seashell like one HERE | the ball one can be found HERE | the pinwheel/poinsettia looking one can be found HERE  | and the one with four loops is coming soon!
